wie man schon ab etwas diesem Post viewtopic.php?p=2257#p2257 erkennen kann, habe ich versucht firebird 2.5.3 auf 2.5.9 zu aktualisieren wie hier beschrieben https://doc.magellan6.stueber.de/instal ... ieren.html müsste der installer die bestehende installation erkennen. leider gelingt dies nicht und es werden 2 neue Dienste mit der Endung DefaultInstance erstellt. wo könnte der fehler liegen.

ich wollte nicht den alten pfad von 2.5.3 überschreiben. das hätte nichts gebracht.

ich weiß leider nicht, wie verstreut die datenbanken sind. ich überlege ein tool zu suchen, das pfade von dateien in einem baum darstellt. es gibt keine klaren Wege. firebird 2.5.9 müsste die datenbanken irgendwie aufnehmen und anstelle von 2.5.3 arbeiten und dbswin muss das auch akzeptieren (tut es nicht).
windowsservietten, weil die Abhängigkeit und der Praxisalltag durch Windows Server von Microsoft mich wahnsinnig gemacht hat! :shock:

Der Installer erkennt nur vorhandene Firebird-Instanzen, wenn diese ebenfalls über den offiziellen Installer erstellt wurden. Wenn ich das richtig sehe, arbeitest du mit einer Datenbank, die von einer Drittsoftware genutzt wird. Eventuell hat diese die Instanz erstellt. Damit liegt die Konfiguration außerhalb des "Standards".

Du könntest die auch mal die database.conf im jeweiligen Firebird-Verzeichnis ansehen. Dort kann man Alias-Einträge für die Datenbanken hinterlegen.

Leider gibts kein Tool, dass Firebird-Dateien erkennen kann, da der Name vollkommen frei wählbar ist.
Du kannst aber die Tabelle "MON$ATTACHMENTS" monitoren.
Diese ist Datenbank übergreifend.
Je Verbindung wird dir da der Name der Datei angezeigt.

Um den alten Service zu entfernen kannst die eine Eingabeaufforderung mit Adminrechten aufmachen und folgende Befehle eingeben:

sc stop [Service name]
sc delete [service name]

Du solltest dir ggf. vorher aber die Diensteigenschaften ansehen um den Pfad zur Exe heraszufinden. Denn wie mein Vorredner schon schrieb, es könnten für bestehende DB's Aliase festgelegt sein.
In der firebird.conf können auch ein anderer Port definiert sein.

Den ersten Beitrag den ich schrieb, da erkennt jeder, dass ich nur mit einem Auge wach war. Weil das Problem etwas zu kompliziert ist für mich, weiß ich nicht, wie ich vorgehen soll. Weil mit Firebird 2.5.3 weiterarbeiten? Klingt nach einem Sicherheitsrisiko. Ich überlege ernsthaft bei Dürr Dental als freier Programmierer bezahlt werden und DBSWIN auf Vordermann bringen (was unwahrscheinlich ist, erstens weil mir die Kenntnisse fehlen und zweitens weil Dürr sein, ich gebe es zu in meinen Augen auch, genialeres Programm VistaSoft vermarkten und sich nur noch auf VistaSoft konzentrieren will, eine Zeit lang wurden DBSWIN und VistaSoft parallel entwickelt und vermarktet, eine Datenbankmigration der Daten der letzten 10 Jahre ist möglich von DBSWIN zu VistaSoft, wird nur durch Dentaldepots durchgeführt und kostet was) oder DBSWIN Patente und Rechte kaufen und selbst patchen und sich um andere DBSWIN kunden kümmern.

Du könntest die auch mal die database.conf im jeweiligen Firebird-Verzeichnis ansehen. Dort kann man Alias-Einträge für die Datenbanken hinterlegen.

mit Tool meinte ich, ich möchte euch die Pfadstruktur von DBSWIN unter /dbsdata verbildlichen. Ich kann euch auch einen MEGA-Link geben (1,4 GB), damit ihr die Installationsdateien sieht.

Konfi außerhalb des Standards bedeutet? gut? schlecht? im Hinblick auf Update-Möglichkeiten.

eine database.conf lässt sich nicht finden. ansonsten gibt es noch aliases.conof fbtrace.conf firebird.conf fbintl.conf über everything gefunden.

Du kannst aber die Tabelle "MON$ATTACHMENTS" monitoren.
Diese ist Datenbank übergreifend.
Je Verbindung wird dir da der Name der Datei angezeigt.

Um den alten Service zu entfernen kannst die eine Eingabeaufforderung mit Adminrechten aufmachen und folgende Befehle eingeben:

sc stop [Service name]
sc delete [service name]

Du solltest dir ggf. vorher aber die Diensteigenschaften ansehen um den Pfad zur Exe heraszufinden. Denn wie mein Vorredner schon schrieb, es könnten für bestehende DB's Aliase festgelegt sein.
In der firebird.conf können auch ein anderer Port definiert sein.
die alten Dienste löschen ist keine gute Idee, denn sonst startet DBSWIN nicht. erstmal deaktiviert lassen.

was genau müsste ich für das monitoren machen?

Hallo,

um für die Anwendung transparent zu Firebird 2.5.9 zu wechseln, ohne Dir registrierte Dienste etc zu verändern, kannst Du folgendermaßen vorgehen:

Hole Dir den Firebird 2.5.9 als zip (manuelle Installation, ist einfach nur ein Verzeichnisbaum) von hier: https://firebirdsql.org/en/firebird-2-5/ und pack es irgendwo aus.

Da Dein 2.5.3er Firebird 32Bit ist, ist es am einfachsten, auch den 2.5.9er in 32Bit zu installieren, das wäre der hier https://github.com/FirebirdSQL/firebird ... _Win32.zip. Wenn das nicht möglich/gewollt ist, frag hier nochmal nach.

Dann kopierst Du aus dem Verzeichnis des bisherigen Firebird 2.5.3

- aliases.conf
- firebird.conf
- security2.fdb
- evtl vorhandene dlls des Herstellers aus Unterverzeichnis udf

an die entsprechende Stelle des neuen Verzeichnisbaums. Das neue Verzeichnis nennst Du Firebird_2_5_9. Das alte heißt sehr wahrscheinlich Firebird_2_5. Ansonsten gilt analog der Verzeichnisname, der vom Hersteller vergeben wurde, für die folgende Beschreibung:

- Jetzt kopierst Du Firebird_2_5_9 neben Firebird_2_5.
- stoppst im Windows-Dienste Manager den / (evtl die) Firebird-Dienste.
- benennst die beiden Firebird-Verzeichnisse um: Firebird_2_5 zu Firebird_2_5_3 und Firebird_2_5_9 zu Firebird_2_5
- startest im Windows-Dienste Manager den / (evtl die) Firebird-Dienste.

Deine firebird.conf enthält übrigens nur Standardkonfiguration, bis auf den RemoteServicePort = 3052, was vom Firebird-Standardport 3050 abweicht. Aber die Anwendung wird von 3052 ausgehen, deswegen passt das so.

wie exportiert man sowas in eine TXT/CSV und welches "programm" ist ein guter einstieg als GUI um SQL-datenbanken zu öffnen ohne sich mit Trial-Versionen rum zuplagen bzw. was muss man mit dbeaver machen? ich scheitere schon am starten (läuft das nicht mit java8?)
